The Rhoton´s Lab Manual: Microsurgical Anatomy and Dissection of the Temporal Bone is a re-edition based on the monograph Microsurgery of the Temporal Bone and of Acoustic Neuromas, published by Professor Albert Rhoton Jr., in 1977. This initial monograph was divided in three parts. Associate authors for the initial part included T. Glenn Pait, Arnold Zeal, Frank .S. Harris, and Wayne S. Paullus. It was supported by NIH Grant No. NS 10978-03, and published by Paul C. Bucy & Associates (Tyron, NC, USA). For over 40 years it has been out of circulation. The remaining samples of the original “Temporal Bone Manual” have been a cherished resource, used for fellows working on Rhoton´s International Microneurosurgical Anatomy Laboratory over the years.The International Rhoton Society, through its Board of Directors, intended to revive this tradition by making the core material in the original manual available for those interested in Microneurosurgical Anatomy and undergoing Lab Training in centers around the world today. This decision is consonant with iRS primary mission: to highlight the long lasting relevance of Professor Rhoton´s teachings and educational efforts.We thank the Rhoton family for continuously supporting the iRS endeavours in restoring Professor Rhoton´s less known works back into circulation.
